Invasive plant removal the hard way

Cliff Hultgren has rappelled down many rock walls to pluck stranded hikers from precipices during his time with the Ventura County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue team. But he had never descended 160 feet on a rope in the middle of the wilderness just to cut down one plant at the base of a cliff — until recently.
