Bird calls, claps and shrieks underscored the boom-boom of the drumbeat pulsing from the a dance studio on Ventura's Main Street. Inside, about 30 people - mostly women - wiggled, thrust and fist-pumped through an hour of Zumba, a salsa-flavored form of exercise that remains hot in Ventura County.
