Written on Supervisors pave way for new fire station in south Oxnard:

Hello lo lo lo - is there anyone out there?

I was looking into these Fire Fighter grants and one of these organizations took donations from Fire Fighter Unions - I noticed the provider of the grant issued the grant for X dollars had to used it to employ fire fighters. So, now the lucky impoverished city to receive the grant with it's newly hired fire fighter are stuck with all the new hires and requirements of insurance, benefits, retirement packages, their sick leave, so on, and so on. All because some grant writer won an award.

Written on Oxnard council makes potholes a top priority:

If you guys don't like it do us a favor - don't come to our theaters, don't eat our resturants stay out of downtown.

Written on Supervisors pave way for new fire station in south Oxnard:

Too much is left out of this story. It was Bedford Pinkard saying we needed College Park for recreation although he had other ideas - he initiated getting the park from the county because he had big plans for a minor league baseball - the infamous Don DiCarlo and his Palm Springs Suns. Then there was the El Pueblo Soccer arena with Big League Dreams Sports Park - all of these were looser deals that have cost taxpayer money. The park came with restrictions. The funds use to purchase the property restrictions were no arenas and coverage like a roof so that made it hard to build sport bar and pavillian for BLD. The last that was written was that BLD owes Oxnard $400,000, LeTellier, partner/attorney didn't want to pay-up but wanted to run tournements in Oxnard. This whole thing smells of back-room deals.

So, our council so afraid of the fire men they sold out the public, the youth of Oxnard. They stiff the public and hand over park land so the South Shore Development and the Maulhardt Development won't have to come up with property/fees required for a fire station. And now our new chief can go into our faux BLD and do fundraisers, "Guns and Hoses", like they do at Big League Dreams.

The Quitclaim Deed is the only thing that protected the park. Supv. Kathy Long's buds Bedford Pinkard and Dean Maulhardt have long tried to get that parcel at the corner of C.I. and Rose to swap the land for space in the middle of College Park to build the BLD Sports Bar. Also, Supv. Zaragoza has never been concern for anyones safety but did show concern for his softball promoter son's wishes that he voted for BLD contract.

(These leeches suck the life out of anything good that could happen to South Oxnard.)

So, now that the horse is out of the barn Carmen Rameriz wants a future meeting to have public input on fire station #8. What for? She's brought massive growth to South Oxnard with the undoing of the Quitclaim Deed.

Written on Oxnard council floats big ideas, again, at special meeting:

THE BIG WHITE ELEPHANT CALLED FIRE STATION #8

I'M sick to death at watching MacDonald cover for staff - he always wants to look to staff for leadership. MacDonald and staff: Karen Burnham, Henderson, and Kinney should all be kicked out the door for lying and misleading the public. Under the Holden reign staff has cost the taxpayer plenty of money. Right now the big white elephant is in the room, and Padilla doesn't know it and the others just go along. The white elephant name is Fire Station #8. Which one of these councilmen will vote on behalf of the public or instead vote to follow the puppet staff of the Maulhardts project, the Dave Whites interest, and South Shore project?

It's about your money - tell the firemen to blow when it comes to Fire Station #8 in College Park a public park.

Written on State fines two Oxnard officials $8,500 over gift reporting violations:

Councilman Bryan MacDonald, $3,000 -- MacDonald used Oxnard's funds as his own private bank for payment of his wife on a plane trip.. then he payed back the money after being caught. Also, made statements to the effect that staff (like Burnham, Henderson, Cameron, and Winegar) and City Manager should run the city and council should get out of their way. Obviously he sees nothing wrong with taking when no one is looking. That's why MacDonald should be recalled. And Karen Burnham should be fired for ever having misled and/or concealed or destroyed evidence, the property of the Oxnard taxpayers.

Written on Soccer discussion packs Oxnard chambers:

Councilman Bryan MacDonald: "wondered whether the city should consider public-private partnerships as a way to expand capacity" Wake-up and smell the coffee! We just unloaded the public/private partnership of the infamous Don DiCarlo's Suns Baseball, El Pueblo Soccer Stadium pitch, and the Big League Dreams fiasco which cost the Oxnard taxpayer maybe a million dollars. So, reading through the lines sounds like another pitch for a soccer stadium at Oxnard taxpayer's expense.

MacDonald's votes are tainted and he lied by omission - he should do Oxnard a favor and resign. MacDonald voted for SouthShore knowing of the concerns in the EIR.

Written on Oxnard deals with variety of issues:

Re: the South Shore project

The Developers balks at $100,000 - - the developer should also be saddled with the cost of the Fire Station/training station #8 and the additional (highly paid) fire fighters they claim needed by staff. Why should the Maulhardts, the Dave Whites and other developers be allowed to unload major cost of infrastructure to the Oxnard taxpayer?

Surely the food trucks are filling a need. It does not go unnoticed one Mexican restaurant has changed over to servicing food trucks. Free enterprise works every time it is tried.
The brick and mortar restaurants just need to get used to it. Competition is what capitalism is all about. Best product with the best service at the best price will win out every time.

Nightly around a vender, I see a lot of loitering and drinking on the street, the roach coach adds nothing to the image of Oxnard. Your good business model cost the community plenty, there now need for more policing.

Written on City manager Ed Sotelo may sue Oxnard after council lets his contract expire:

At last night's meeting Jaquez said: "I didn't know association with a developer was quite an issue ..." What a liar, he's had a long association with developer Dave White, and he, Tricky Dick, was on the Oxnard Unified High School board that appointed Mr. White and Mr. Armando Lopez who were to set out to find the property for a new high school. They found it under their own noses - property owned by Dave White- How convenient! This would help to speed up and facilitate the South Shore Development's requirement for a high school. South Shore Development sounds familiar, hmmmm. Tricky Dick Jaquez and Councilman MacDonald took huge campaign donations I believe was laundered cash. This cash was funneled in via Orange County on of behalf of Oxnard developers to build the South Shore Project. Tricky Dick said at a school board meeting that all the neighborhood was in favor of it - wrong! How would he know if no meeting discussing the issue was ever held?

Written on Oxnard mayoral candidates vie for voters' support at forum:

Big spenders: Irene and Bedford Pinkard. They have lost millions of our tax dollars on stupid schemes: the Palm Springs Suns Independent Minor League Baseball - Irene Pinkard and Maryann Rooney were at Oxnard City Hall cheering on support for this dopey deal. The team owner Don DiCarlo left Palm Springs owing mucho dinnero for stadium rental, dentistry bills, apt. (they shared) rental of which they were being sued for. This scam was sold to public by Karen Burnham and the Pinkards and the rest of the city council that went along. The DiCarlos were here for the city of Oxnard to build them a baseball stadium. City Attny. Homberg and others fought a court case to keep the scheme going at Oxnard College - it cost the city plenty, plus the lawyers were crying that they didn't get paid. The DiCarlos filed chapter 11 or chapter 9... whatever, they didn't pay-up.

Then Sotelo, Burnham with Pinkard invlovement presented El Pueblo - a stadium to be built by the residence of Oxnard for club soccer. This guy Hugo, a millionaire, wanted to sell credit cards (keys to the city) - it some how tied in with a low cost housing of which Oxnard gave the millionaire owner something like $50,000 as start-up money. This deal fell thru. Last up-date Hugo was selling replicas of 9-11 wreckage to the public, and the FBI was looking for him.

Now, big spenders, the Pinkards got us hooked-up with Big League Dreams Sports Park scam at College Park that was sold to Oxnard council again by Sotelo, Burnham, and the Pinkards (behind the scenes push.) This fiasco has already cost the Oxnard taxpayers over a million dollars - the impetus was to sell beer at the public park. BLD was a private facility for private use to be built with public funds.

Irene Pinkards track record shows she's a moocher and has little regard for running Oxnard in an ethical way. And from her past statements Irene Pinkard has no intension of conforming to legal and professional standards that Oxnard needs.

Written on Tale of two money trails in Oxnard mayoral race:

Thank you STAR for shining the light on the roaches from Orange County. It is now clear that the families (Maulhardt) and business that are using phony groups using the name Oxnard to fool the voters into thinking they represent something they're not (transparency.) The object is to control the mayor and council with aye votes to: SouthShore, RiverPark, Big League Dreams Stadium(s), Fire Station in College Park, High School in the Green Belt all to facilitate more mindless building on Ormond Beach and in the Green Belt. Pinkard, MacDonald have already given the aye votes to SouthShore and Jacques has already stated his preference for building a High School in the Green Belt to further the SouthShore project.

With faux Orange County committees (treasurer Lysa Ray, and Dana W. Reed of attorneys Reed & Davidson, LLP) provides anonymity to folks wishing to funnel in huge contributions to their puppets on the Oxnard City Council. These large contributions have helped to misshape Oxnard by the defeat of Measure V and the passage of Measure O which is a fraud - it's to use taxpayer dollars on their private agenda. It's up to the Oxnard voter to get past these slick advertisements, vote out these creeps and finish the job the DA did not do.

Written on Editorial: Three for Oxnard: Ramirez, Vazquez and MacDonald:

NOOOOOOOOOOOO to MacDonald - he voted for the South Shore Project, Hearthside Homes. He was instrumental in helping the ARCO Gas Station project ... they sell alcohol within 90 ft of C.I. High School and it's across the street where small children play in the park. ARCO was not to sell malt liquors, and singles - they do now - purchases can easily be taken into the park thanks to Gillig and MacDonald. As I recall he took his wife on plane trip(s) where she attended dinners and a banquet(s) paid by companies that do business with the city or it was on the tax's payers dime. He's been antagonistic when public asks questions about his city business trips to Sacramento, Las Vegas and the like. Also, MacDonald hides behind his mustache so people can't tell what he's saying... I find MacDonald is disingenuous like when answering questions saying: "the same as him" as he did at the candidates forum.

Oxnard is in need of a clean sweep out of all those who participated directly and indirectly to deceive the FBI and/or D.A.'s investigators. They worked to continue the cover-up so our degenerate Mayor Holden with the aye votes from the Pinkard(s) and MacDonald could continue to gift away land and tax dollars from the people of Oxnard.

Conniver Navas is an insider that pretends ignorance of things that an elected City Treasure should oppose - like the great deception of the fringe benefits to her benefactor the former City Treasurer - Dale Belcher. This was the give away of our public funds, $300.00 quarterly to a handful of chosen officials.

Conniver Martinez feigns ignorance in fulfilling records request, he acts to delay, he is sometimes rude to the public. I think it's to derail the process thereby impeding the public of lawful rights.

Help clean-up Oxnard vote:

MARTIN JONES - TREASURER
LARRY STEIN - CITY CLERK

Written on Candidates 2012: Longtime watchdog Bert Perello seeks Oxnard council seat:

The people of Oxnard owe Burt Perello a debt. He and his astute lawyer brought the River Park flood zone issue to the media attention so that the City Council could no longer ignore the dangerous issue of flooding in the River Ridge area and the dire need to fix the levee. We are in a flood plane and there are two earthen dams in the Santa Clarita area - that's just up the Santa Clara River. Some people aren't aware - and haven't considered what and earthquake could do to those dams. Oxnard Council chose to ignore warnings of possible disaster and continues building on the riverbed.

Oxnard needs a City Councilman like Burt Perello.

Written on Oxnard council candidates grilled at forum:

VOTE: BURT PERELLO - CITY COUNCIL
VOTE: AL VELASQUEZ - CITY COUNCIL

These candidates have shown themselves to be honest and have represented their community well.

Rydberg's website is disturbing.

Jacquez is trying to mislead in his statement - at a OUHD meeting - Jacquez stated that a new high school at Rice and Channel Island was good and the neighborhoods were in favor of it (this is so the South Shore project can be built.) The neighborhoods were not advised of new high school on Rice Ave. The ones who are in favor of it is Dave White the developer who owns the land and the one the OUHD (of which Jacquez was on the board) selected as the (White's Groups) person(s) to look for land for the new high school. Jacquez is lying when says he's not sure... what everybody else wants..

MacDonald is a disappointment - he has always voted in unison with Holden, and Pinkard - they are the problem that has brought Oxnard down. MacDonald was the enabler that allowed ARCO to sell alcohol at Rose/Channel Island which is within a 1,000 ft. of the C.I. High School and College Park where children play. Also, it was reported that he took his wife to San Francisco/Washington D.C., Dinner on the TAXPAYERS DIME. No like.

Written on Oxnard mayor candidates forum focuses on corruption and potholes:

Irene Pinkard devoted her energy to a back-room deal while she was on the Oxnard Planning Dept. and the President of the Oxnard Unified High School Dist. She and Rockey Valles Jr. (then Principal of C.I. High School) met with the Superintendent Jody Dunlap, and the Developer to bring in the Fresh and Easy that sells alcohol in front of the Channel Island High School. She struck that done deal before the neighborhoods knew and could protest.

At times Fresh and Easy doesn't look like it's going to make it - so the neighborhood could be left with a liquor store in front of the Channel Island High School. Pinkard misused her positions on the school board and on the planning department - she's unethical and violated our trust - she claims the school wanted a marquee. She doesn't deserve to be dog catcher.

Dick Jaquez - emphasis on getting along with other city council and the mayor before you can get anything done. That's the problem - we've had people in city hall that kept their mouth shut and went along to get along. Holden has had his fingers in every pie and a willing city council (Maulhardt, Herrera, MacDonald, both Bedford an Irene Pinkard) to further their agenda. It appears the decisions were on behalf of their development friends - those that contribute to the enhancement of their life style and set-up the residence of Oxnard to pay for the so called amenities for decades to come. Also, you can't forget the people that bought into the RiverPark. The RiverPark project is in the river bed and requires expensive flood insurance - what a nasty trick.

Oxnard beat out the city of Redding (Redding needs to fight brush fires and only had a small unit - like one) - the city of Redding needed the award from S.A.F.E. grant - but Oxnard had more pull apparently. In Oxnard the developers need to build a Fire Station with employees to facilitate the Maulhardt Housing Development, and the South Beach - Hearthside Homes (presenter, George Lauterbauch) in South and Southeast Oxnard. These guys made no provisions for their gigantic projects nor do they intend to pay for building Fire Station #8, firefighter's pay, and retirement. They expect the Oxnard residence to pick up the tab.

Isn't it ironic that Architect George Lauterbauch led the charge to kick the Rainbow Women out of the Petit house in College Park for a Historical Museum - then changed their minds after burning down the Petit House - and now they need the College Parkland for the Fire Station #8... You all have been had by the Measure O campaign - because this is what the Holden, Maulhardt, Herrera, Pinkard, MacDonald and the gang intended. To enhance their insiders pocket books -not our parks, kick down the green belt and say it's for us.

Written on Pa Ventura: August 4, 2012:

Pa - To Oxnard comment: Pa, you got to get off that rocker and do some research. Tom Holden came into office knowing Burnie Huberman (at least since 1994.) Under Tom Holden's leadership he led the council to vote in property deals that favored his long time friend to the detriment of the city coffers. He lied to the public about the River Ridge Golf Course saying it was making money when it's been in the red since day one. He saw to it a honest employee was fired because he would not lie about adding an additional 9 holes -this is costing the taxpayer approximately 2 million a year - he knew it. The Down Town Theater is also an other boondoggle that's costing the taxpayer an additional 1 million a year - he knew it. The Down Town parking lot stands empty - he knew it. The River Park homes are in a flood zone could cost the residents some serious coin to get flood insurance - but Holden wouldn't listen to the warnings. Now Ormond Beach, Holden borrowed money from that fund to pay for the golf course debt then switched because the city had to buy back land that was sold to a developer that wanted his money back once he found it to be in a flood zone. These payments going back and forth are designed to confuse anyone paying attention. Holden has always had two council to get his majority vote (Maulhardt, Herrera, MacDonald and Pinkard(s). This is a small sample of how Holden has brought Oxnard to near bankruptcy.
