A special screening of the film 'Smitty,' a tale about how a teenage boy's friendship with a dog changed his life, was the centerpiece of a fundraising event to support Shelter Hope, a pop-up store in Thousand Oaks where people can adopt dogs and rabbits from the Ventura County Animal Shelter.
