Simi Valley High distance runner Erika Barr has signed a national letter of intent to attend UC Davis.

Now it's official: The CIF-SS Northern Division football playoffs have turned into the Marmonte League Tournament. Not-so-unexpectedly, top-seeded Westlake, second-seeded Oaks Christian and third-seeded St. Bonaventure all earned berths in the semifinals by handily winning quarterfinal games on Friday.

Expect the competition to ratchet up Saturday for the Simi Valley High girls cross country team. But expect the Pioneers to be able to handle the challenge.
