Wal-Mart, the largest private employer in the United States and the world's largest retailer, also said on Tuesday it plans to hire 100,000 newly discharged veterans over the next five years, at a time when the U.S. unemployment rate is at 7.8 percent.

CC I read that article, glad to see their going to hire some Vets for the jobs.

My work is done for the day, so now it's time to play. Has anyone seen, heard, or have one of those Google Chromebooks? I just order one, but there's a waiting list on them. Just something more to throw in my purse, but it only weighs 2.4 lbs and it's 0.7 thin. We'll see if it's worth a (you know what)

Anyway making Chicken Enchiladas for dinner tonight, so I better get it started.

I think Hootie might have missed the mark, maybe not.

Personally...I have no issue with private employee unions. They are on a level field when it comes to negotiations.

Public Unions that are able to spend unlimited amounts of monies to get their candidate elected...I think that is a conflict of interest that the removes the voice of the working private industry taxpayer.

Just my opinion.

No biggie Mom, maybe we don't understand. We see reports of firefighters and nurses making double base pay and we have issues with that. I am sure that is not the norm, but it does raise eyebrows. It's always those on the low end of the totem pole that get the crap.

I prefer a private enterprise system....at will employment & 401(k)s. Capitalism works!!!

Not they they are not necessary, obsolete in a global workforce economy. Left and Right can whine about American wages until next Sunday.

Truth is, our government, Republican and Democrat sold us out. NAFTA, CAFTA, JICA, and the most current signed by the current sitting President, KORUS have all made life better for people that do not reside in the US.

If I have said it once...Globalism works for everyone except the the top producer. When it went into effect, #1 had no direction to go then down.
