Youngsters take part in a recent taekwondo class. A new round of classes begins each month and costs $60.
Navy Child Youth Programs (CYP) is now registering children 5 to 17 years old for a new month of taekwondo classes.
Registration takes place from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Hueneme Youth Center. Classes are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. Cost is $60 each month.
“The Tae Ryong School of Taekwondo has been serving Ventura County since 1982,” says Anthony Unchangco, youth sports coordinator. “We are proud to bring them onto our base and let them teach our youth the Korean art of self defense.”

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) hosted an international forum on the MK 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS), April 16-19. Through this annual conference, NSWC PHD shares information regarding the latest logistics and in-service engineering technology with eight allied nations. In addition, Port Hueneme hoped to promote an open line of communication across nations by making this information available for all invited.
