Adopt-a-Bench on Ventura pier

Pier into the Future, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the historic Ventura Pier is happy to announce the expansion of the popular Adopt-a-Bench program on the Ventura Pier. Due to the popularity of the adopt-a-bench program the organization has partnered with the City of Ventura facilities staff to add brand new benches to the Pier. Pier into the Future Board Member Don Mills led the research effort to find environmentally friendly new benches that would complement the existing benches.

Pier into the Future provides a unique opportunity for community members to “adopt” one of the new benches as a way to remember a loved one or to honor that special person or family. The cost is $2,000 per bench and all donors receive a bronze plaque adhered to the bench for a 10 year period. The wording on the plaque can be customized to the donor’s requests and the donor can help in selecting the exact location of the bench on the Pier.

Pier into the Future was founded by a group of dedicated community leaders, in partnership with the City of Ventura, to establish an endowment fund to preserve, maintain and enhance the historic Pier for future generations to enjoy.
