Ventura checkpoint results in 4 DUI arrests

A Ventura checkpoint netted four DUI arrests and 20 citations, authorities said.

Ventura police staged the checkpoint from 8:30 p.m. Friday to 2:30 a.m. Saturday at southbound Seaward Street and Alessandro Drive.

Of the four drivers arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, two had blood alcohol levels of 0.08 and 0.11, police said. The two other drivers were taken to Ventura County Medical Center for a blood sample, officials said. Their results are pending.

Police issued six citations for drivers operating a vehicle with a suspended license and 11 more were issued for people driving without a license, authorities said.
