Peaker plant

Re: your July 14 article, “Soon to be online”:

It warmed the cockles of my heart over the last several months as I drove by the construction of the peaker plant on Harbor Boulevard near Oxnard Shores. I hope the naysayers appreciate the fact that, unlike Orange and San Diego County residents, we have a backup.

The San Onofre nuclear power plant most likely will never come back online. Power outages have and will occur down there, but we in Oxnard have that feeling of comfort knowing that common sense has prevailed finally.

Most important, include your full name (not partial initials), full home street address and phone number on each letter you submit. E-mail addresses also are welcome. If your letter is published, you will only be identified by your name and city of residence.
