Police make arrest in Ventura hit-and-run

A Ventura man was arrested Tuesday afternoon in connection with a hit-and-run at Kimball Road and Thille Street, authorities said.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 75-year-old man with moderate injuries he'd suffered in a traffic collision, police said.

They said the man and his wife were stopped at a red light at Kimball and Thille when someone hit their vehicle from behind about 3:30 p.m.

The person, who was speeding, fled east on Thille, police said.

Police said they later found the vehicle they thought hit the man's car. It was parked in a driveway in the 1300 block of Ontario Street.

They arrested Aaron Budzinski, 26, on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.

The 75-year-old man was treated at a hospital. His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening, police said.
