Ventura police said Wednesday they were investigating three reports about a man trying to lure teens into his car.
The first report came in November and the last over the weekend, officials said. In each, witnesses said a man approached children age 14 to 16 who were walking alone. He tried to lure them into his vehicle in exchange for a ride or money.
The man was described as in his 30s, speaking broken English, driving a pickup truck and possibly employed in construction or gardening, police said.
Police suggested children write down the license plate number of strangers who approach them and that parents contact authorities immediately.
