Braille Institute van to visit senior center
The Braille Institute's Mobile Solutions Van will be at the Fillmore Senior Center, 533 Santa Clara Ave., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 29.
Services will include free consultations with a low-vision rehabilitation specialist; demonstrations of assistive technology; a mobile retail store with talking watches, writing guides and large-print calendars; and information on library services.

Doctor to speak about memory
Dr. Suneeta Choudhary, a family practice physician, will present a program about memory-related disorders at 1 p.m. Tuesday at The Moorpark Active Adult Center, 799 Moorpark Ave.
The program is designed to clarify the differences between dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

Historian to discuss AARP's Ojai roots
AARP historian Lily Liu will speak about former Ojai resident and AARP founder Ethel Percy Andrus Saturday at the Gables of Ojai.
The free talk and reception, co-hosted by the Ojai Valley Museum, will begin at 4 p.m.
Andrus founded Grey Gables of Ojai, an innovative retirement community, in 1954 as a project of the National Retired Teachers Association. While running Grey Gables, she founded AARP in Ojai, where it had its headquarters for several years. AARP's headquarters are in Washington, D.C., today.
The Gables is at 701 N. Montgomery St.

Seminar to offer tips for mind clarity
Oxnard's Senior Services program and SCAN Senior Resource Center are offering a class on techniques to keep the mind sharp.
This free presentation will be at the Wilson Senior Center at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 29. It will be conducted by Karen Markle, a community outreach specialist.
