Song circle invites all to potluck dinner

Songmakers, a nonprofit organization of beginning to professional musicians and singers, will holds its Agoura Hills song circle Tuesday in a private home.

A potluck dinner will take place at 6 p.m. followed by the song circle from 7 to 10 p.m.

The event is free. Singers, acoustic musicians and music lovers are welcome and encouraged to sing, play or visit.

UCSB fellow to talk about galaxies

The Ventura County Astronomical Society will hold its monthly membership meeting at 7:15 p.m. Feb. 17 in The Forum at Moorpark College, 7075 Campus Road, Moorpark.

Sebastian Honeig, a guest fellow from the German Science Foundation at UC Santa Barbara, will present "Feeding the Monsters in the Nuclei of Galaxies."

Assembly candidate to address group

The Simi Valley Moorpark TEA Party will hold its regular meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at The First Street Restaurant, 2025 First St.

Patricia McKeon, a conservative candidate for the open 38th Assembly District seat, will be the guest speaker. A question-and- answer period will follow.

The event is free.

The Conejo Amatuer Radio Club will hold its monthly club meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the East County Sheriff Station at 2101 E. Olsen Road.

The club meets the third Thursday of each month except December. Each meeting features a presentation on amateur radio or other technical topics. This year, the focus is on antennas.
