An Oxnard man was arrested early Wednesday after leading police on a brief vehicle chase, officials said.
Officers tried to stop a vehicle about 12:35 a.m. at Kamala and E streets, Oxnard police said. The driver, Alejandro Rodriguez, 21, failed to stop and led police on a chase covering less than one mile, officials said.
Rodriguez failed to negotiate a turn and crashed into a block wall in the 1500 block of South J Street, police said.
Police said they later determined the vehicle Rodriguez was driving had been stolen from the 500 block of Hobson Way in Oxnard.
Rodriguez was booked into Ventura County jail on suspicion of recklessly evading police and stealing a vehicle, officials said.
