Schedules for two Moorpark City Transit bus routes will change beginning Monday.
Both schedules for Route 1 and Route 2 have been adjusted, with Route 1 beginning 30 minutes later and Route 2 beginning 30 minutes earlier.
Shaun Kroes, a senior management analyst for the city, said schedule adjustments are being made primarily in response to Moorpark Unified School District's recent announcement it's changing Moorpark High School's hours to 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The school day there previously began at 7:30 a.m. and ended at 2:30 p.m.
Route 1 previously began at 6 a.m. with the first pickup point in front of City Hall. The route now will start at 7 a.m. with the first pickup point in front of Woodcreek Apartments on Spring Road.
Route 2 previously began at 6:40 a.m. and ended at 6:02 p.m. at City Hall. It now will start at 6:10 a.m. at the regular first pickup point in front of City Hall. The last drop-off point for Route 2 will now be at Moorpark College at 4:53 p.m. Passengers who are still on board Route 2 at 4:53 p.m. may request that the driver take them to their Route 2 bus stop destination, without traveling through the rest of the route or picking up passengers at other bus stops.
Kroes said the new schedule enables passengers to arrive 15 to 18 minutes before classes start and 15 to 22 minutes after school ends.
The fare for the general public, student and adults will remain $1 each way; 50 cents for people 62 and older and for people with disabilities; and free for children 5 and younger who are accompanied by an adult.
