10-year-old girl robbed at gunpoint at fruit stand near Oxnard

A 10-year-old girl was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday while she was watching the register at a fruit stand near Oxnard, Ventura County sheriff's officials said.

The incident was reported about 1:05 p.m. in the 1500 block of Hueneme Road, in an unincorporated area of the county, said Capt. Bill Flannigan.

He said the girl was at the register while her mother stepped away when a man in his 40s walked up, brandished a gun and demanded money. The girl gave the man an undisclosed amount of money, and he left the area in a truck, Flannigan said.
