Motorcyclist taken to hospital after crash north of Ojai

A 46-year-old man was flown to a hospital due to a motorcycle wreck in the Los Padres National Forest north of Ojai on Saturday afternoon.

The incident near Highway 33 and Rose Valley Road initially was reported at 12:14 p.m. as a collision between a vehicle and motorcycle, but was updated as a solo motorcycle crash, the California Highway Patrol said.

The man reportedly was conscious but was having trouble breathing, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.

The man was transported about 1:27 p.m. by air to Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura, officials said.

Emergency personnel stayed at the hospital until 1:47 p.m.

No information on the patient's condition was given at the time.
