Highlights: Camarillo Dons— Jaime Jaquez Jr, had 13 points, eight rebounds and five steals against Simi Valley. Aidan McCoy had 10 points and four rebounds. Hudson Vogel had eight points and six rebounds. Jack Holden had three points, five rebounds and four assists. Andrew Wetter had six points. Will Davis, Ziyan Bhamani and Ethan Elkins combined for 12 points. Jaquez had eight points and 16 rebounds against Agoura, Jaquez had eight points and 16 rebounds. Wetter had eight points and five rebounds. Ziyan Bhamani had nine points. Jack Holden and Hudson Vogel combined for 10 rebounds. Jaquez had five pointsand 11 rebounds against Moorpark. Wetter had eight points, six rebounds and three blocks. Davis had seven points and five steals. Vogel had six points. McCoy had seven offensive rebounds.

VENTURA UNITED WINS CHAMPIONSHIP

Highlights: Ventura United — The boys' 10U team went undefeated in the AYSO Region 10W All-Star Tournament in 10 games. Ventura defeated Santa Barbara 2-1 for the championship. The team was led by Tristan Carter, Austin Sezzi and Wesley Cherry who scored more than 10 goals each. Defensively the team was paced on defense by Marcos De Los Santos, Isiah Montano, Stefan Fuhr, Luke Wiens, Cy Tritschler and Paige Tritschler. The defense had five shutouts. Ben Carter and Bob Lawrence are the coaches. Ventura will play in the Section 10 All-Star Tournament in March in Bakersfield.

SOUTH COAST WHITE GOES 3-1

At Santa Barbara

Highlights:South Coast White — Commerce defeated South Coast 13-5 in the 14U division. South Coast posted wins over Chino Hills 7-3. Santa Ynez 13-1 and Santa Barbara. Against Commerce, Jack Kleinick had two goals. Sean Madden had one goal and one steal. Dominic Terrusa had a goal and four steals. Jake Durrant and Kleinick scored two goals against Chino Hills. Terrusa had a goal and two steals. Against Santa Ynez, Kleinick had four goals and three steals. Madden had six steals and two goals. Charlie Dijker had 10 saves. Durrant had three goals against Santa Barbara. Terrusa had a goal and two steals. Kleinick had two goals and three steals. Madden scored the game-winning goal with four seconds left. Dijker had five saves and one assist.

SOUTH COAST 25, SOCAL SOUTH 14

California Cup 18U at Lakewood

Highlights: South Coast — Ben Rogers had five goals and drew five ejections. Ryan Strickland had three goals, five assists and three steals. Alec Stroyeck had three goals, drew two ejections, three steals and one assist. Thomas Turner had two goals, drew three ejections and had two assists. Dominic Valentino had six steals, two goals and four assists. Dominic Zingale had 12 saves and three steals.

California Cup 16U at Upland, Jan. 23

Highlights: South Coast — Maxwell Huseby had two goals, four steals, drew one ejection and had one assist against Santa Barbara. Cole McClung had one goal and two assists. Jacob Rosenfeld had one goal, four steals and two assists. Jack Speidel had three goals, two assists and drew two ejections. Taylor Noblett had 10 saves and three steals. Against Del Mar, Thomas Turner had four goals, drew three ejections and had seven steals. Luke Irwin had four goals and drew three ejections. Chas Henley had one goal and drew two ejections. Ben Harvey had six steals, two goals, drew two ejections, took one penalty shot and had five assists. R.J. Kashare had five assists and one goal. Noblett had nine saves, four steals and one assist.

VOLLEYBALL

CHANNEL ISLANDS FINISHES 0-3

Highlights: Channel Islands — The 14-year-old team went 0-3 in the Southern California Volleyball Association Qualifying 1 Tournament. Channel Islands played three tough matches, including two tiebreaker games. Kelsie Danebrock had seven aces. Jamie Tweit had three digs. Bree Bouchet had four kills. Shaun Crespi had five blocks.

BASEBALL

BEES PLACE SECOND

Highlights: Conejo Bees — The 8U travel team finished second in the Martin Luther King Tournament at Newbury Park. The Bees went 5-2 over three days with victories over the Valley Commandos 14-2 and So Cal Wolves (3-2) in pool play. In double-elimination play, the Bees defeated Valley Commandos 11-4, So Cal Wolves 10-6 and Chino Hills Storm 4-3. The Bees' losses were to the SGV Hustle 12-11 and 8-6 in the championship game. Bees players are Luis Luhrs, Dylan Lopez, Anthony Alvarez, Nick Leehey, Charles Masino, Nolan Alvarez, Casey Kleinman, Cato Kleinman, Evan Johsnon and Ethan Calvert.
