Question: It appears that work to complete the new addition to the RV Park at Naval Base Ventura County, Port Hueneme, has come to a close and the weeds are invading. Why was work stopped, and is the project not going to be completed any time in the future?
Answer: The RV Park expansion is a Morale, Welfare and Recreation project. The contractor completed about 93 percent of the development with good quality work. He has, however, run into financial problems, and the work was halted as we sort through the legal processes. In the meantime, MWR has received funding to clean up and maintain the grounds. We will get the park opened as soon as possible.
