Dates: Aug. 1—12

Hours: Gates open 11 a.m. weekdays; 10 a.m. weekends and Aug. 7. Fair closes at 11 p.m.; carnival closes between 11 p.m. and midnight.

Location: Ventura County Fairgrounds, 10 W. Harbor Blvd., Ventura.

Cost: Adults 13 and older, $12; children 6-12, $9; seniors 62 and older, $9; children 5 and under and "super seniors" (100+), free.

Wristband Days: Aug. 2, 6, 7, 9. Wristbands, sold for $25 until 6 p.m., are good for unlimited carnival rides until 7 p.m.

Seniors & Persons with Disabilities Day: Aug. 7. Seniors 62 and older and people with disabilities admitted free.

Getting there: paid and free parking lots and shuttles

On-site parking: Available for 2,000 vehicles at $10 per car.

Free off-site parking and shuttle service: Six locations between 10:30 a.m. and 11 p.m. Marked blue on map.

Parking for $10 with free shuttle available at: Marriott Ventura Beach and San Buenaventura Beach, marked red.

Train and bus service: Amtrak, Metrolink and Vista buses offer service to the fairgrounds. Check the Transportation section of the fair's website at http://www.venturacountyfair.org for routes and schedules.
